MultiScanner i700 OneStep quickly and easily locates the edges and center of wood and metal studs and joists behind walls, floors, and ceilings. It also locates metal as well as live AC electrical wiring. The ultra-bright display screen, SpotLite Pointing System, and audio tone all indicate the location of the target. The signal strength indicator helps to distinguish between shallow and deep targets. While no stud sensor I have ever used has been 100% accurate, this one does as good of a job as any. No significant complaints.
Works well on both interior and exterior walls unlike cheaper models and finds the center of the stud not just the edge. I paid less than $40 with shipping. This is a great scanner. Too bad the price has jumped up so high.
Have to take a little time to learn how to use the product, but it's better than nothing. Complicated method for locating metal, but again better than nothing. Good product for locating wall studs. 90%+ accurate, every now & then product points to a stud that's not there, but it's better than nothing. Instructional DVD was not very good.
I now have one case that holds everything you need to do some hangin'. I should have purchased this years ago. It would have received 5 stars but along with the cost, it didn't come with any type of case to keep it safe. Just using it for my home and already being borrowed by envious friends. Works so easily and quickly. This thing is awesome. It's a bit pricey so I hesitated but I'm sure glad I bought it. I purchased a Dewalt angle driver at the same time so I added some Velcro in the top part of that case to hold my multiscanner along with a level and tape measure and wa-la.
